The Forum Vauban has been a very successful benevolent association working from 1994 to 2004. In 2004 it was forced into bankruptcy by the European Community which demanded part of their funds back. In December 2008 a judge from the Landgericht Freiburg decided that if ever, the former responsible persons of Forum Vauban had only a very small guilt. What remains however is a destroyed association and a huge image loss of the EU.
