| forum vauban introduces itself |
Forum Vauban was a non-profit association with more than 300 members. In having responsibility for community work, the association has been ultimately responsible for the development of social interaction in the new city district. By the year 2006, Vauban will have become a new home for 5,500 residents.
During the planning process between 1995 and 1999, Forum Vauban was the legal body of the extended citizen participation and thus co-responsible for the district design by representing wishes and needs of the future inhabitants. Vauban has acclaimed national and international recognition as an exemplary sustainable city district. For a substantial part, this occured in regard to the Forum's work, its projects and endeavors in the community.
Unfortunately, the Forum Vauban was pushed into bankruptcy by the European Community EC: The formerly given research money was pulled back although the project had been finished and finally accounted (to all side's satisfaction!) long ago. We did neither misuse the money nor were corrupt. We have three lawyer's reports to stabilize our point of view, whereas Mrs. Margot Wallström, who wanted to give us a detailed answer to our defending paper (see the documents in the special page "EU"), did not even answer until today, after the bankruptcy. She could have cancelled the case with one letter, but she did not. (We think that she puts her personal career over the search for fairness). |
